Sunday Streets is San Francisco’s open streets program that transforms miles of city streets into car-free community spaces for kids to play, seniors to stroll, businesses and organizations to connect, and neighbors to meet. Between 8,000–10,000 people attend the Excelsior event, making it the largest of the year. An entire block of the event is dedicated to Scouting!
Scouts and Scouters should wear their Field Uniform uniform.
Be sure to bring water, snack, jacket, sunscreen, money to spend at nearby restaurants. Scouts may wish to bring their bikes or scooters to explore the rest of Sunday Streets; if so, be sure they also bring a helmet.
Do no bring knives.

Street closures begin at 10am and streets reopen just after 4pm.

Excelsior District
Sunday Streets occupies the section of Mission St between Theresa & Avalon and the intersection of Mission & Geneva.
ScoutZone will be Near the intersection of Mission & Onondaga.
Service Hours
This is a community event. Scouts who volunteer to help run our station earn service hours.
Note: you may only take one merit badge, not both
Additional Details
Plan to spend about 1–2 hours for a docent-led tour of the event, including listening (and possibly talking) to Ham Radio operators around the country and world.
Bring your own lunch, water & snacks.
Wear your Field Uniform
