Work in Progress
This section of the site is for current Scouts, parents, guardians, and leaders. It replaces our old google site for things like rosters, forms, etc. Do not share your login with anyone.
It is still in progress and currently works best on desktop/laptop (not mobile). If you find a bug or want to request a feature, let us know.

Meetings
Weekly on Tuesdays 7pm–8:30pm
Mid August–early June
First Tuesday: Patrol Meetings via Zoom
Third/Fourth Tuesdays: County Fair Building
Scouts are expected to attend 70% of weekly meetings. Meetings are where Scouts work towards advancement, pland and prepare for upcoming outings, teach one another, form bonds, and have fun!
Parent Committee Meetings
First Tuesday of the Month
7–8:30pm, Zoom
Because the Scouts plan and run their own meetings and activities, this is an opportunity for parents to stay informed of upcoming events, discuss troop needs, review the budget and fundraising needs, ask questions, and give feedback on the program.
Parents are asked to attend as many committee meetings throughout the year as they can.
Camping
Major priority for Troop 333
8–10 times per year
Approximately 8–10 camping opportunities are planned each year, including summer camp at Camp Royaneh and an annual High Adventure Trek. Most are within 1-4 hour drive of SF
Scouts sleep in troop tents as patrols, grouped by age. Adults sleep in separate tents.
Supervision of Scouts is achieved with 1:5 ratio of adults/Scouts
Scouts are expected to plan meals, shop, cook, and coordinate equipment needs as patrols.
Scouts are expected to pack for themselves and care for their personal and patrol gear after each trip.
All Scouts are encouraged to earn the Camping merit badge, which requires 20 nights of camping, among other requirements.
Ranks up to First Class have many requirements that can only be achieved while camping.
Parent help is especially needed for camping tripsAccompanying Scouts while they shopping for food before the trip
Carpooling to/from the campground.
As additional adult support in case of emergency
Service Opportunities
8–10 times per year
Scheduled volunteer landscaping service with SF Recreation & Parks
Scouting for Food (annual Thanksgiving Food Drive)
Camp Royaneh maintenance (Spring)
Eagle Projects
The Scouts are always interested in other service opportunities. Please share your ideas and connections at Parent Committee meetings.
A minimum 4–6 service hours are required for each rank advancement. For Life rank, at least three of those must be for an approved conservation project.
Day Hikes & Outings
Major priority for Troop 333
8–10 times per year
We aim for a day hike or other activity once or twice a month depending on our camping schedule, holidays, etc.
Generally on Saturdays for a 1/2 day, but days and duration vary
Day hikes generally range from 5–10 miles. Some are quite strenuous.
Our famous 20-Mile Hike is offered on odd calendar years
In most cases,
– Examples include:
Hikes, rock climbing, basketball games, BBQ, SF walking tour, Trip to Santa Cruz
Hiller Aviation badge workshop, Exploratorium Tactile Dome evening, Geocaching
SF Adventure (longstanding tradition of scavenger hunt throughout the city, created by T333)

Activities & Expectations
• Court of Honor – Ceremony to highlight scout achievements, 3x a year
– Formal ceremony & potluck dinner for families/friends of Troop 333 Scouts to celebrate achievements
(badges & rank advancement) and mark progression through the various stages of scouting
– Held on the night of a regular meeting
– It’s very important to the Scouts (whether they tell you or not) that families come to show support for
their successes. It’s also a great opportunity to meet and connect with other families
