One campout. Two choices. On Friday evening, we’ll start by helping Pack 345 kick off their first meeting before hitting the road. On the way to Half Moon Bay, we’ll have dinner as a troop at the supposedly famous Taco Bell in Pacifica.
On Saturday, Scouts will have their choice of a surf lesson or a hike along the California Coastal Trail. In the afternoon, we’ll all enjoy the beach.
All Scouts should check the planning doc for our meeting time, location, packing list, itinerary, etc.
Hikers should print and bring a copy of the map, and their 10 essentials.
The Surf Option
There is an additional $105 fee for the surf lesson. The fee includes surfboard rental, wetsuit, and a 90-minute private group lesson.
Scouts must have an up-to-date BSA Swim Test at the ‘Swimmer’ level.
The Turf Option
Scouts without a BSA ‘Swimmer’ certification—or those who simply prefer to hike—will embark on a 10-mile coastal hike. Qualifies for Hiking merit badge, requirement 4.
