Event Planning
As a youth-run troop, the Scouts conceive, plan and execute their own events, but we’re always interested in new ideas and opportunities.
The Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) provides youth leadership to the Troop. It’s comprised of the SPL, Patrol Leaders, and Scouts with certain staff positions. with oversight from the Scoutmaster. The PLC plans the troop’s annual calendar in summer, and meets monthly to plan meeting and event details for the coming month.
If you are a Scout with an idea or suggestion for an activity, let your patrol leader know!
If you are a Parent with a trip suggestion, want to teach a merit badge, etc. we’re interested! Please talk to our Scoutmaster. The Scouts are especially interested in potential field trips and guest speakers, service opportunities, and new places to hike and camp.
Planning Calendar
Planning an event? Have a glance at this calendar first. It includes district events, major school conflicts and holidays, and tentative planning dates. To edit or double check against US and religious holidays, log into Google Calendar.
If you know of any conflicts that should be added (e.g. school finals, SAT test days, homecoming dances, etc. please let us know so we can add them.
Planning Documents
Every troop hike or overnight trip has a planning document. This is what the Scouts use to create the itinerary, plan menus, request equipment, organize tenting, etc. This document also has important emergency information and contacts. Use the link below to open a new template.
