Pacificon is a huge annual electronics and amateur radio convention. Though mainly for adults, they have a youth program, including a special tract for Scouts. Learn about amateur radio—what it is, how it works, types of equipment, and how to use it.
You can also register to take Electronics or Radio merit badge instruction with trained counselors.
Cost
General admission and patch: $10
If you want to work on one of the merit badges the cost is $15
An electronics kit is required for Electronics merit badge and may purchased on site for $5.
Get your Ham Radio License!
Become a licensed Ham radio operator in one day with this free class. The class runs from 8am to 4pm and is open to adults and Scouts. There is a $15 testing fee (discounted to $5 for Scouts).
To be issued a call sign, by the FCC, there is a $35 government fee. Youth under 18 are eligible for a full refund. More details here.
This is not a Troop 333-organized event. Register directly with the organizer. Troop 333 is not providing adult leaders for this activity.

Additional Details
Plan to spend about 1–2 hours for a docent-led tour of the event, including listening (and possibly talking) to Ham Radio operators around the country and world.
Bring your own lunch, water & snacks.
Wear your Field Uniform
