This 6.5-mile trail in Las Trampas Regional Preserve in the East Bay includes come uphill climbs, but is suitable for everyone. It should take us between 3 and 4 hours to complete. Expect a moderately strenuous hike with great views. An early start means an early finish, so you’ll still have most of your Saturday for other fun.
For those opting for a qualifying 10-mile hike for your hiking merit badge, we’ll be takling the blue route. We’ll hike the first 4.5 miles along the same route. When we reach the trail junction with the Corduroy Hills trail, we’ll take the SE route while the rest of the group hikes SW. The extra miles will add about 100 minutes to our journey. This is a significantly more strenuous hike. Be sure to pack extra water and snacks.
There is no potable water along the trail, be sure to bring enough with you. Here’s how to calculate how much you’ll need.
