This 7-mile trail in Las Trampas Regional Preserve in the East Bay includes come uphill climbs, but is suitable for everyone. It should take us between 3 and 4 hours to complete. Expect a moderately strenuous hike with great views. An early start means an early finish, so you’ll still have most of your Saturday for other fun.
If you’re interested in turning this into a qualifying 10-mile hike for your hiking merit badge, let us know in the comments when you RSVP. There are lots of additional trail options in the preserve. Modification will depend on interest and available adults.
There is also no potable water along the trail, be sure to bring enough with you. Here’s how to calculate how much you’ll need.
