The American Heritage merit badge invites Scouts to explore the people, ideas, and events that shaped our nation, helping them understand how our cultural and civic identity developed over time. Through research, optional museum visits, and discussions about historic sites and traditions, Scouts gain a deeper appreciation for the forces that influenced America’s growth. It’s an especially fitting badge for a milestone year, offering a meaningful way for youth to connect national celebrations with their own learning and reflection.
This is a pretty easy merit badge. The American Heritage merit badge is an easy and enjoyable option for Scouts. It combines simple research with engaging topics about U.S. history and culture, often building on school knowledge.
