Mt. Tam Overnight

This is an easy, one-night drive-in* camping trip near beautiful Mount Tamalpais. We depart San Francisco on Saturday morning to arrive at Haypress Campground in time to set up camp and make fire without matches.

Sunday morning we’ll drive to Mt. Tam for an early summit hike. The hike only requires a daypack and sturdy shoes (and of course the 10 Essentials).

Be sure to let your patrol leader know (well in advance) of any outdoor rank or badge requirements you want to fulfill on this outing.

*There is a short, ¾-mile walk from the parking area to the campsite. Since we have to bring out own water, wagons will be permitted.
